Large pinecone
PINECONES are a set of three abstract metal pinecones made of interlocking panels of corten steel, accented with stainless steel. The largest is 8-feet in diameter and is 13 feet long. The mid-size pinecone is 6-feet in diameter and is 9-1/2 feet long. The smallest, a sitting bench, is 4-foot in diameter and is 6-1/2 feet long.
PINECONES' designing was based on the Polish paper-cutting folk art of "wycinanki" (vih-chee-NON-kee), in recognition of the influence of the area's original large community of Polish immigrants.
